Editorial and Publishing Process

The editorial and publishing process at Accounting Crystal Word is conducted in accordance with international best practices and ethical standards for scholarly publishing. To ensure the rigor, transparency, and integrity of all published work, the journal implements the following systematic procedures:

1. Initial Submission Screening

All manuscripts submitted through the OJS platform undergo an initial evaluation by the Editor-in-Chief or the assigned Handling Editor. This screening assesses the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s scope, adherence to formatting requirements, completeness of submission files, and similarity level using plagiarism detection software.

2. Assignment to Handling Editor

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to a Handling Editor with expertise in the relevant domain. The Handling Editor oversees the review process and ensures the manuscript progresses in accordance with editorial standards.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review

Each manuscript is evaluated under a double-blind peer review system by at least two independent reviewers. Reviewers assess the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the accounting discipline. Additional reviewers may be consulted when necessary.

4. Editorial Decision and Revision Process

Based on reviewer reports, the Handling Editor issues one of the following decisions:

  • Accept

  • Minor Revision

  • Major Revision

  • Reject

Authors are required to submit a revised manuscript along with a detailed response-to-reviewers document. Revised manuscripts may undergo additional review rounds to ensure that all comments have been adequately addressed.

5. Acceptance and Technical Preparation

Upon acceptance, the manuscript proceeds to technical preparation, which includes professional copyediting, language refinement, reference verification, and formatting in accordance with the journal’s publication template.

6. Proofreading and Author Confirmation

Authors receive page proofs for final review. Only minor, non-substantive corrections are permitted at this stage. Authors must confirm the accuracy of all content prior to final publication.

7. Final Publication

After proofreading approval, the article is scheduled for publication in the forthcoming issue and released online through the journal’s OJS platform. All published articles are assigned a DOI and indexed according to the journal’s indexing coverage.

8. Post-Publication Monitoring

The editorial office monitors all published articles for ethical integrity, citation accuracy, and compliance with journal and COPE standards. Post-publication issues, if any, are managed through established correction, retraction, or expression-of-concern procedures.
