Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

In order to make an article published in Tajdid: Halal Economy and Innovation Review the author should take some guidelines into account, as follow.

  1. The article to be submitted must be the article that has never been published or submitted anywhere.
  2. The article to be submitted in Tajdid: Halal Economy and Innovation Review are allowed to be written in either English or Bahasa Indonesia.
  3. The manuscript is at least 15 pages (6000-8000 words) and typed in Ms.Word with A-4 paper format.
  4. The article is submitted at https://jurnal.unsil.ac.id/index.php/tajdid.
  5. The article submitted in this journal includes study about Halal Economy and Innovation Review.
  6. The manuscript is written in Bahasa Indonesia or English which is good, clear, straightforward, and concise. When the manuscript is written in Bahasa Indonesia is obliged to refer to Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia yang Disempurnakan (EYD) guidelines, please check https://ejaan.kemdikbud.go.id/
  7. The title of the article should be clear (not ambiguous) and identifying the content. The format of the title uses Times New Roman 12 Bold, Centered Alignment, and must be Capitalize Each Word. It is one space with 0 pt spacing (before) and 12 pt spacing (after). The title must be written in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  8. Author and Affiliation Name. Write the author name without any academic title or credit. If the authors are more than one person, write all of them. Affiliation includes: the major/program of study, faculty, university, city, state. Indicate the corresponding author (including the email address) by adding asterisk (*) behind the authors’ names. The authors’ names are written under the title. Use Times New Roman 12 Bold, Centered Alignment with 1.5 line spacing and 12 pt space (before and after). The authors’ affiliation is presented with number thumbnail under the authors’ names, using Times New Roman 11 Centered Alignment and 1.5 line spacing. The correspondence address (i.e., email address) is written under the affiliation, and it uses Times New Roman Italic 11, Centered Alignment with 1.5 line spacing.
  9. The abstract is written in both Bahasa Indonesia and English. Abstract is written in a maximum of 250 words, in single space and italic format. Abstracts must be written in one paragraph and include research objectives, research methods, research results, conclusions and implications. Abstract is followed by keywords.
  10. Keywords are in the form of phrases or words or a group of words that reflect the contents of the manuscript, or important terms in the manuscript, and may not be an abbreviation of words or city names or company names. Keywords must consist of three to five keywords.
  11. Introduction. The introduction contains the phenomenon under study, its urgency and research motivation, research state of the art, research gap analysis, statement of research objectives, research novelty, and research contribution. The formulation of state-of-the-art and research gaps is based on a minimum of 10 articles published in the last 5 years. The discussion is written without sub-chapters. The writing of introduction without adding subtitles.
  12. Literature Review. It describes the theoretical framework (grand theory) based on the literature review which becomes the logical basis for developing research hypotheses or propositions and research models (if deemed necessary). Present the formulation of hypotheses or propositions if needed in this section. The manuscript is written with Times New Roman 11.
  13. Research Methods. It describes an explanation of the research methods used, empirical models, selection methods and data collection procedures, measurement and operational definitions of variables, as well as data analysis methods. A manuscript with a qualitative research approach, this section describes the unit of analysis, key informants/participants, data collection procedures and techniques, data validation techniques, and data analysis techniques. The writing of method without adding subtitles. Formula for variable measurement must be accompanied by formula number on the right side (font: Times New Roman 11, space 1).
  14. Result and Discussion. This section contains of two subtitles namely result and discussion. The subtitle of results presents the data analysis results and explains the conclusions of research findings based on the results of data analysis and research objectives. The discussion section describes the analysis of research findings by explaining the meaning of the findings and providing arguments for the research findings. The discussion subtitle must also explain the linkages of research findings with state-of-the-art research, and the research gaps that have been formulated, as well as the linkages of research findings with previous research, and relevant theories. In the results and discussion section, it is necessary to explain the novelty and the contribution of the research findings. Avoid presenting the discussion simply by explaining accepted or rejected hypotheses and simply describing tables or pictures of the results of data analysis, or simply explaining what is or is not in accordance with the theory or just the same or not the same as previous research.
  15. Conclusion. It contains conclusion, implication, and limitation. Conclusion briefly illustrates the results that address the hypotheses and/or research purposes or findings. Conclusions are arranged in the form of flowing paragraphs, not in the form of concluding points. The conclusion contains research findings and an explanation of the novelty of research findings, namely novelty in terms of theory, formulas, postulates, prototypes, or other types of novelty. Suggestion provides things expected to conduct related to further ideas the research has proposed. Conclusions also explain the implications of research findings. Present the limitation that advice the further research to explore the research in the same area.
  16. References. Every source used in the text should be listed in reference. And all the references are included in the body of the text. It should contain reference literatures from primary resources (e.g., scientific journal) and at least 80% of them are published in last 5 (five) years. Each of the article should have at least 15 (fifteen) references. The authors can use book, eBook, web page from legal institutions, report, working paper, and proceeding as the references. It is suggested to use reference manager (highly recommended to use Mendeley) in the process of writing the text and citation. The format of writing the references uses APA 7th edition (American Psychological Association).
  17. Figure. Figures should be numbered consecutively (e.g., Figure 1, etc.). The caption should be center justified and placed under the figure and use black and white color. Each figure must be accompanied by a figure number, image title, and figure source (font: Times New Roman 10, single space). Explanations of figures are written with examples of formats: Figure 1 or (Figure 1). Figure titles are written in Capitalized first-letter format. Tables and figures can be written in the introduction, literature review, research methods, results and discussion.
  18. Tables. Each table must have a description of the table number, table title and table source, with Times New Roman 10 font, single space. Table explanations are written in an example format: Table 1 or (Table 1). Capitalized the first letter. Tables cannot be in the form of pictures and must be re-typed.
  19. Mathematical Formula Mathematical formulas should be numbered and clearly presented using Microsoft.
  20. The author should previously register as Author and/or reviewer in http://publikasi.unsil.ac.id/index.php/Tajdid/user/register. The steps of submitting an article to Tajdid: Halal Economy and Innovation Revieware as follow. The author should do registration on Register menu. Complete all data in register menu. Save the username and password to log in. To submit an article, click new submission.
  21. Author Fee (Page Charge) Readers will not be charged from the process of reviewing up to publishing the article. Both authors and readers may read and download the full text of each article in free charge.
