Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Articles submitted to WELFARE: Jurnal Ilmu Ekonomi must follow the writing guidelines below:

  1. The article manuscript may be written in either Indonesian or English and must be submitted online through the WELFARE: Jurnal Ilmu Ekonomi website. No submission fee is charged. Authors must register and log in with a user account and password before submitting.

  2. The manuscript must consist of at least 2,000 words and must not exceed 20 pages, including figures and tables, without appendices. The manuscript file must be in Microsoft Office format (.doc/.docx). The paper size is A4 (21 cm × 29.7 cm) with an inner margin of 2.5 cm and top, bottom, and outer margins of 2 cm. There is no need to change the page numbers in the provided article template, as page numbers will be arranged during the journal publishing process.

  3. The title and abstract must be written in a single-column format, while the main content must be written in two columns. The title, abstract, and keywords must be written in both Indonesian and English.

The manuscript title must not exceed 15 words, written in title case, small caps, centered, bold, using Times New Roman (TNR), font size 16, single-spaced.
The abstract must not contain any figures or tables, must be justified, written in Times New Roman (TNR) size 11, single-spaced, and must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be clear, detailed, and factual, stating the research objectives, results, and conclusions. The abstract must stand alone and references should not be included within it. Avoid uncommon abbreviations; if necessary, provide the full explanation when first mentioned.
Keywords must consist of 3–5 words/phrases, separated by commas, justified, using TNR size 10, single-spaced. Section titles such as Introduction, Research Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Recommendations, Acknowledgments, and References must be written in TNR 14, bold, uppercase, with 6 pt spacing above and below.

  1. Main Content of the Article

The main text must be written in a two-column format with 1 cm column spacing, justified, using TNR size 11, with a first-line indentation of 5 mm, single-spaced.
The manuscript begins with the title, abstract, and keywords. The main content consists of: Introduction, Research Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Recommendations, followed by Acknowledgments and References.

In the Introduction, describe the research background, the phenomenon gap and research gap, the importance of the study, and the reasons for selecting the sample and study location. State the research objectives and include the research benefits. Integrate the phenomenon with the literature review/theoretical framework in this section. Explain how you formulated the research problem and clearly state the research target.

The Research Method must be included in the submitted article. Explain the data, population and sampling, analytical tools used, and include the research Fishbone Diagram.

The Results must be concise and clear. The Discussion must analyze the significance of the findings and avoid repetition. Avoid an overly broad discussion of citations and literature in this section.

The main conclusion may be presented in the Conclusion section. The conclusion must answer the research problems and stand alone. It must guide the reader toward the importance of the research content.

Conclusions may be followed by recommendations related to research findings or suggestions for future research.

Provide Acknowledgments in a separate section before the References. Briefly list the parties who supported your research, including funders.

  1. Headings may only be written up to three levels.

Heading Level 1
Heading 1: title case, left aligned, bold, TNR size 14, single-spaced, numbered using Roman numerals followed by a period.

Heading Level 2
Heading 2: title case, left aligned, bold, TNR size 11, single-spaced, numbered using capital letters followed by a period.

Heading Level 3
Heading 3: title case, left aligned, italic, TNR size 11, single-spaced, numbered using numbers followed by a closing parenthesis.

Heading Level 4 is not accepted in the manuscript.

  1. Figures and tables must be in black and white. If prepared in color, authors must ensure that they remain clear when printed in black and white. Figures and tables must be clearly readable and proportionate to the page layout. Figure and table titles must be numbered, using TNR size 9, single-spaced. To ease layout processing, include figures or tables in .tif/.jpg/.jpeg format in a separate folder.

  2. Mathematical equations must be written clearly, numbered sequentially, and accompanied by necessary explanations.

  3. Manuscripts must not include page numbers, including headers and footers.

  4. All hypertext links and section bookmarks will be removed from the manuscript. If your article refers to an email address or URL, type it out in full.

  5. Citations and references must be written using Mendeley with the American Psychological Association (APA) 6th Edition style. Authors must ensure that every reference cited appears in the reference list and vice versa.

Wikipedia, personal blogs such as Blogspot, or non-scientific websites are not allowed as references.
At least 80% of references must be primary sources, with a minimum of 10 references.
References must include recent sources published within the last 10 years.

  2. The editorial board reserves the right to reject manuscripts based on peer-review recommendations and to make necessary changes or language adjustments without altering the substance. Content editing will be discussed with the authors beforehand.
